RECOMMENDATION 2:

Another suggestion by veterinarians is to start with 0.2 mg/kg twice a day and slowly work up to 0.5 mg/kg twice a day.

Example:

Let’s say your cat weighs 10 pounds, which converts to 4.5 kg.

To calculate the low dose, you multiply 0.2mg x 4.5kg = 0.9 mg, which rounds to 1 mg

To calculate the high dose, you multiply 0.5mg x 4.5kg = 2.25 mg, which you can round down to 2 mg, or round up to 2.5 mg

According to this calculation, you would give your pet 1 mg of CBD, twice daily for a small dose, and 2 - 2.5 mg for a large dose. Effectively, this calculation arrives at the same result as the first recommendation, with only a slight rounding variance. So, you can use whichever calculation your more comfortable with.
